For Equity, Justice, and Dividends of Democracy, Ayedaade LG Deserves Federal Rep. Slot — Concerned Citizens
The political landscape of the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency stands at a critical crossroads. As we approach the next electoral cycle, the principles of equity, fairness, and inclusive representation must be more than just campaign slogans—they must be the blueprint for our collective progress.
As Concerned Citizens of this great constituency, we are issuing a clear and firm call to the leadership of the Accord Party in Osun State. The time has come to zone the Federal Representative seat to Ayedaade Local Government.
Currently, there is a mathematical injustice. A dispassionate look at the current distribution of political power within our federal constituency reveals a glaring marginalization of Ayedaade. While we operate as a tripod of three local governments, the weight of representation is currently tilted heavily toward two sides, leaving the third in the shadows.
Irewole and Isokan LGs currently boast the Senatorial seat, House of Representatives seat, a State House of Assembly seat, and a significant lion's share of high-ranking political appointees.
Despite its massive voting population, unwavering loyalty to the party, and strategic importance, it remains sidelined in the distribution of elective federal offices.
To continue this trajectory is not just a political oversight; it is a direct affront to the spirit of the justice and fairness we claim to represent.
Why Ayedaade? Why Now?
Politics is built on the foundation of reciprocity. You cannot expect a region to remain a voting bank while its people are denied a seat at the table where the dividends of democracy are shared. If currently, Irewole and Isokan already hold the Senatorial, House of Representatives mandates, it is only natural and just that the Federal House of Representatives slot goes to Ayedaade in the next political session.
Monopolizing power within two local governments creates resentment and fuels internal friction. For the Accord party to remain a formidable force, it must ensure that every partner in this federal constituency feels valued.
*It is Ayedaade’s turn. There is no moral or logical justification for the seat to remain in the Irewole/Isokan axis when Ayedaade has capable, loyal, and visionary leaders ready to serve.*
Let this serve as a timely and serious warning to the party leadership at the state and local levels. The electorate in Ayedaade is watching. Any attempt to bypass Ayedaade LG in the upcoming primary process will be viewed as a deliberate act of marginalization. We can not guarantee the same level of enthusiasm and block voting if the party demonstrates that our loyalty is taken for granted.
We urge the party elders and stakeholders to intervene now. Do not trade long-term local harmony for short-term political convenience.
We demand that the Accord Party officially zone and reserve the Federal Representative ticket for Ayedaade Local Government. This is the only path to ensuring a united front and securing a landslide victory for the party in the coming governorship election and other subsequent elections.
For the sake of Equity, for the sake of Justice, and for the Dividends of Democracy to reach every corner of our constituency—Ayedaade must lead the way now.
Signed;
The Concerned Citizens of Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency.
